Owner, Chief Veterinarian, Dr. Renee Himes established Ladera Pet Clinic in 1978 after attending the University of California and graduating from the School of Veterinary Medicine, Tuskegee Institute, Alabama. Dr. Himes is a member of the California Veterinary Medical Association, as well as the American Veterinary Medical Association.
To assist in the diagnoses and management of difficult cases, Dr. Himes maintains an active relationship with local specialists in the fields of dermatology, radiology, cardiology, diagnostic imaging, ophthalmology, neurology and oncology. She emphasizes preventative medicine to her clients in hopes of preventing a "doggone of catastrophe." Dr. Himes, who is the mother of a twenty-four year old daughter, enjoys salsa dancing, skiing and golf.

 
Dr. Margarita Abalos, a graduate of Washington State Veterinary School, has been practicing for thirteen years - the last 8 in California. Dr. Abalos studied emergency and critical care medicine and has had experience with exotics. Dr. Abalos has a special interest in surgery as well as several years of experience working with surgical specialists. You can find her surfing, golfing or enjoying her dog "Dexter" when she is not working.

Clifton Brown is a veterinary technician at Ladera Pet Clinic. Cliff is responsible for Promotions and Marketing. His zeal for excellent customer  service is exceptional. Preparing and training for the Annual L.A. Marathon is his favorite pastime. Cliff also enjoys fishing and spending time with his family and pets.
 
Juan Menendez has always liked dogs since he was a little boy. Juan began working for Ladera Pet Clinic in 1999. Juan is the Quality Control Officer and has a Shih Tzu named "Princess' who is seven years old. Juan enjoys spending his free time at the beach.
 
Greta Schroeder became a licensed vet in the Philippines, the country of her birth. Greta received her Master's Degree in South Korea. She has worked at Ladera Pet Clinic for more than two years, demonstrating her care and concern with the patients there. Greta spends her leisure time traveling and visiting new places with her husband and four year old son. Greta and her family have two cats "Tiger" and "Shadow".
 
 
Karina Tellez is the newest addition to the Ladera Pet Staff. Growing up she wanted to help and protect animals. Every now and then she came home from school with a stray dog or cat and transformed it into a new member of the family. Taking into consideration her love for animals, she decided to turn it into a career. She attended California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, as an Animal Health Science Major and received a Bachelor of Science Degree, after graduating in June 2009. Karina's next goal is to become a Registered Veterinary Technologist. Karina has a three year old Maltese Mix named "Osita".
